Getting to the flat
- Batumi direct
- Short
about 6 kilometres, roughly 15 minutes to the centre
- Kutaisi or Tbilisi
- Long
a cross-country journey by bus, taxi, hire car or train
For Batumi itself, a direct flight is almost always the shortest route.
In short
Georgia has three international airports: Tbilisi and Batumi, both run by TAV Airports, and Kutaisi, run by the state-owned United Airports of Georgia. For the coast, Batumi is the easiest: the airport is about 6 kilometres south of the centre. Kutaisi and Tbilisi offer different connections depending on the season, but you then travel on by land. Current flights are listed on the airports' own websites.
The three airportsBatumi handled 1,229,949 passengers in 2025. Arrivals in August were more than five times those in February.

Batumi passengers for 2025 from the operator, TAV Airports. According to Geostat, all of the country's airports together handled 8.5 million passengers in 2025. We give no separate figures for Kutaisi and Tbilisi because we had no official release for them.
Comparison
For owners on the coast, the airport matters less than the whole journey to the flat: how long it takes and how reliable it is.
Overland journey times depend on the road, traffic and season. Train timetables are on railway.ge.

By road, for example by bus, taxi or hire car. Kutaisi airport lists its onward connections on kutaisi.aero. Journey time depends on the road and traffic, so plan it before you book.
That varies from season to season. Current routes and airlines are listed on the three airports' websites: batumiairport.com, kutaisi.aero and tbilisiairport.com. We do not list routes here because they change every season.
